Welcome to the Commodity Shoppe, the home of Bluestem Body LLC, a company born out of resilience, determination, and a commitment to health-conscious, affordable skincare. Founded by Alyssa Dobyns Foresman, Bluestem Body emerged just weeks before the onset of the COVID-19 shutdown, but that didn't deter her. In fact, overcoming hurdles has become a defining part of her journey.
Alyssa's personal health challenges became the catalyst for Bluestem Body. Dealing with a serious health issue requiring intensive intravenous medication for over a year, she faced the limitations of over-the-counter pain relief solutions. Unsatisfied with their short-lived effects, high costs, or merely masking the pain, Alyssa decided to take matters into her own hands.
The result of years of dedication and experimentation was the creation of our flagship product - The Muscle Bar. Designed not only to provide lasting pain relief but also enhanced with an essential oil blend that promotes healing and reduce inflammation, the Muscle Bar quickly became a game-changer and top seller.
Alyssa's health struggles didn't end there. Multiple autoimmune conditions surfaced, and severe skin sensitivities arose as a consequence, leading her on a quest to find skincare products that wouldn't exacerbate her skin problems. Today's highly unregulated market was filled with products containing harsh ingredients like alcohol, formaldehyde, parabens, and sulfates. Thousands of dollars spent on products that either irritated the skin or were unaffordable in the long run fueled Alyssa's determination to create a better solution for herself and others.
The mission of Bluestem Body expanded to include a range of health-conscious bath and body products. Over a decade, and continued research contributes to the ongoing development of products crafted with premium, organic, and all-natural ingredients. Our commitment to quality assurance is reflected in small batch production, ensuring that every product meets our high standards.
